Catholics and Muslims joined at an event on the 29th of March 2009 to commemorate the Noble Birth of Prophet Muhammad. The Event took place at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, East Melbourne, Australia. About forty VIP guests attended the event which was launched by Fr John Dupuche of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. Omer Atilla, an author from the Australian Intercultural Society was the keynote speaker who focused on the significance of Prophethood and Divine revelations. The program also included a performance of Sufi music by a member of the Australian Sufi Group.

Fr John Dupuche, explained the importance of silence and listening in religion. The audience which consisted of faith leaders then remained in silence for fifteen minutes to contemplate on how the Prophet received the first revelations of the holy Quran. This session was followed by a period of reflections from the floor during which the guests had the opportunity to describe what they felt during the period of silence and the recitation from the holy Quran. The program then concluded with the serving of sweets and refreshments.
