Ged Kearny on the role of unions in building a better future for marginalised Australians

Tuesday; 18 August 2015 — The Australian Intercultural Society organised a luncheon for about 40 guests on 18 August 2015; featuring Head of Australian Unions Ged Kearny. The event was titled; “The role of unions in building a better future for marginalised Australians”.

Welcoming remarks were given by Ahmet Keskin; executive director of AIS; followed by an introduction by facilitator Ray Francis Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Monash University.

During her talk; Ged shone a light on the inequality faced by many in the community in particular women and migrant workers.

The event concluded with a Q&A session and the presentation of gifts of thanks.
